摘要
从后殖民话语中的"他者"角度来解读《长日留痕》的主人公史蒂文斯,通过分析他在达林顿府上的工作经历、旅途中的所见所闻以及与美籍新雇主之间的新型关系,再现其"他者"形象,从而揭示殖民意识对被统治者所造成的精神伤害和心理创伤。
The main character of The Remains of the Day is analyzed from the perspective of "the Other" in post-colonial discourse.Through the analysis of his working experiences in Darlington Hall,what he saw and heard in a journey,and the new relationship between himself and new American master,the image of "the Other" is recreated,revealing the problems and consequences that colonial consciousness have brought about to the ruled such as mental injury and psychological trauma.
