《恋爱中的女人》是劳伦斯文学创作的最高峰,小说主要描述了几个男女的恋爱体验和情感经历。小说中主要人物赫麦妮在恋爱中没有满足基本的生理需求,从而导致自我缺失;杰拉尔德虽然满足了五层次需求理论中的最低生理需求,但在不断的征服欲望中毁灭自我;而伯金和厄秀拉,满足了需求的五层次,不断提升自我,完成了健康的自我实现。

Woman in Love is the peak of Lawrence’s literary creation. The novel mainly describes the love experience and emotional experience of several men and women. Hermene,the main character in the novel, fails to meet the basic physiological needs in love,which leads to her lack of self;Gerald meets the minimum physiological needs in the theory of hierarchical needs,but destroys himself in the constant conquest of desires;while Birkin and Ursula satisfy the hierarchical needs and constantly improve themselves. They complete the healthy self-realization.
