Integrity is an important goal of talent cultivation. Since the reform and opening-up policy, the integrity education for college students in China has experienced four major stages, which are recovery, exploration, integrative construction and innovative development. At the initial stage of the reform and opening-up, integrity education developed amongst the recovery of education in ideals and beliefs as well as law and discipline. During the construction of socialist market economy, integrity education highlighted collective values and socialist moral education. In the process of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, integrity education was included in the national anti-corruption system, which gradually became standardized, institutionalized and systemized. Since the 18th National Congress of Chinese Communist Party, guided by socialist core values, integrity education has been further enriched and expanded in terms of education content, law and theoretical research. Some basic enlightenment and experience can be obtained through the reflection about the historical process of the development of integrity education for college students during the forty years since the reform and opening-up and the exploration about the times connotation of integrity education in different stages. The experience can help further promote the in-depth development of integrity education for college students in the new era and continuously improve the construction of ideological and political courses during implementation.
