模因论视角下的美国情景喜剧《老友记》的字幕翻译

On Interlingual Subtitling of the Sitcom Friends from the Memetics Perspective

本文从模因论视角出发研究字幕翻译,选取美国情景喜剧《老友记》中的11个会话片段及其翻译作为案例进行分析,主要采用描述分析和例证对比的研究方法,重点研究其幽默语言的翻译。文章首先对字幕翻译和模因论进行综述,随后将字幕翻译的过程与模因复制的四个基本过程进行类比,从而提出并探讨模因论视角下字幕翻译模型以及模因与文化翻译的关系等。

This paper conducts a case study on interlingual subtitling from the memetics perspective with the popular American sitcom Friends as a case, putting particular emphasis on the translation of humorous language. Based on the literature review of studies on subtitle translation and memetics, it draws an analogy between the process of interlingual subtitling and the four fundamental stages of meme replication, and proposes a memetic model of inter-lingual subtitling is dealing with the relation between meme and cultural subtitle translation.
