As a hybrid of linguistics and ecology, ecolinguistics, concerning the relationship between language and environment, has paved the way to transdisciplinarity. The last half century has witnessed its increasingly stable research team and fruitful achievements and it has actually become more and more well established within mainstream linguistics. The present paper introduces the main content of the newly-published book titled The Routledge Handbook of Ecolinguistics in this field and make a brief comment about it.
