Study on the Relationship Between Tan Yankai and Song Meiling

清末民初作为中国近代历史上重要的转捩点,是一个民主与独裁、统一与割据、进步与落后,革命与反革命的时代。谭延闿和宋美龄在这一错综复杂的时空交汇点建立了特殊的友谊关系:从谭宋互称兄妹,谭促成蒋宋婚姻,到谭临终嘱托宋美龄为其女择婿,两人之间的友谊既有个人的芳华,同时也是历史与时代的产物。他们的相识、相交、相知谱写了真挚的友谊之歌,更在中国近代的历史画卷上书写了浓墨重彩。

As an important turning point in China’s modern history, the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China were in an era of democracy and dictatorship, unification and separation, progress and backwardness, revolution and counter-revolution. Tan Yankai and Song Meiling had established a special friendship at this complicated intersection of time and space: Tan and Song called each other brother and sister. Tan contributed to the marriage of Jiang and Song, and Tan asked Song Meiling to choose a husband for her daughter when he was dying. The friendship between the two people is not only personal, but also the product of history and times. Their acquaintance, communication and mutual understanding are sincere and worth praisal in modern Chinese history.
