迈向整体史的区域史研究——关于区域史研究的一些思考

A Study of the Regional History towards the Whole History——Some Thoughts on the Study of Regional History

就史学研究而言,区域史的方法是一种常用的分析视角与方法。在区域史研究中,区域只是分析问题的一个入口,其最终目的是对整体历史的探索,其终极关怀仍然是对整体史的认识与把握。因此,研究者在划定区域时应以"问题"为中心,不必拘泥于区域的地理界限,而须专注于自己的问题以及围绕问题展开的叙述,这样,问题的边界就是区域的边界,区域的地理界限自然消解,如此则区域史与整体史研究的结合就有了实现的可能,区域史研究的目的也就有可能实现。同样重要的是,在进行区域史研究,尤其是明清以来的中国区域史研究时,还必须具有全球史的视野。

as far as historical studies are concerned, the method of regional history is a commonly used as a method and analytical angle of view. In the study of regional history, the region is only an access to the analysis of a problem, whose ultimate goal is to explore, understand and grasp the whole history. Instead of being restricted to the geological boundaries of region, the researchers should focus on their own "academic issues" with the narratives surround. Thus, the boundary of an academic issue naturally decomposes the geological boundary to combine the regional history study and the whole history research possibly. It is equally important that we should have a global vision over the regional history, especially the regional history in China since the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
