Taizong’s Jinci Ming and Its Influence

《晋祠铭》是山西太原晋祠园中的一部唐碑,为唐太宗李世民亲书御笔。其字雄奇挺拔,其风雍容和雅,其神飞逸洒脱;此铭是以行体入碑,开铭石书之先例,为历代书家借鉴研习。《晋祠铭》的产生,不仅推动了崇王书风的盛行,影响当时书坛的审美趋向,也为赵宋王朝时期帖学的兴起打下坚实的基础,同时,《晋祠铭》也是当代社会研究李唐王朝政治、文化的重要史料。

Jinci Ming is a tablet of Tang dynasty in Jinci garden, Taiyuan, Shanxi. Its words are bold,style is elegant. This inscription is a precedent for ancient calligraphers to use for reference. The emergence of jinci Ming not only promoted the prevalence of worshipping Wang’s style of writing and influenced the aesthetic trend of that time, but also laid a solid foundation for the rise of tiexue in the Zhao and Song dynasties. At the same time, Jinci Ming is also an important historical material for the study of politics and culture in Tang dynasty.
