摘要
在光纤通信中,电光调制器传输特性曲线易受环境温度等因素的影响发生漂移,严重影响系统的通信质量。通过介绍LiNbO3电光调制器的工作机理,分析了调制器静态工作点随温度剧烈变化对输出波形的影响,通过外加电导频信号和内置光电二极管(PD)检测的方法,设计了一款具有自动锁定最佳工作点功能的偏压控制装置。实验结果表明:该偏压控制装置可以工作在-55℃^+80℃宽温度范围内,使调制器的传输特性曲线不随外界环境温度的变化而变化,能够很好地满足电光调制器在恶劣环境中的应用要求。
In optical fiber communication, the transmission characteristic curve of electro-optic modulator is susceptible to drift due to factors such as ambient temperature, which seriously affects the communication quality of the system. This paper introduces the working principle of LiNbO3 electro-optic modulator, analyzes the influence of the static working point of the modulator on the output waveform with the drastic change of temperature, and designs a bias control device with the function of automatically locking the optimal working point through the method of external conductance signal and built-in photo-diode(PD) detection. By experimental verification, the bias control device can work in -55 ℃^+80 ℃ temperature range wide, which makes the transmission characteristic of the modulator is not along with the change of external environment temperature change, and can satisfy the requirement of electro-optic modulator bad environment application.
