Moral identity is the unity of group morality and individual self-will, that is, the unity of universal morality and individualized subjective needs. The moral thought of the Scottish Enlightenment, on the one hand, proceeds from emotionalism, and demonstrates that the initial, interactive and embodied emotions are the ideological basis of moral identity;on the other hand, proceeds from social practice, and expounds that the market economy society of reciprocity, the social tradition of mutual assistance and the interactive emotional society are the realistic conditions for the realization of moral identity.Through the study of moral identity in the Scottish Enlightenment Movement, this paper explores the realization path of moral identity based on emotionalism and real life conditions.
