向现实妥协:鲁迅“弃医从文”的另一种解读

Compromise with the Reality:Another Interpretation of Lu Xun's “Giving up Medicine for Literature”

众所周知,鲁迅把自己"弃医从文"的原因归结为"幻灯片事件",这已经得到中国鲁研界的普遍认同,但迄今仍然只有鲁迅自己的孤证,因此受到一些日本学者的怀疑。有日本学者查阅了仙台医专保留下来的幻灯片,比较了鲁迅的几次回忆细节之后,认为鲁迅所说的幻灯片根本就不存在,"幻灯片事件"是鲁迅虚构的。因为证据缺乏,"幻灯片事件"难以得到证实,但是从时代形势和鲁迅的性格来看,他弃医从文的选择很可能是向现实妥协的结果。

As is known to all, it has been widely acknowledged by the Chinese academia that Lu Xun attributes his “giving up medicine for literature” to “the slide event”. But up to now, nobody else has proved Lu Xun’s claim;it is therefore doubted by some Japanese scholars. After consulting the slides retained by the Sendai Medical College, and comparing several details in Lu Xun’s accounts, some Japanese scholars main- tain that “the so-called slide event” is Lu Xun’s fiction. Because of lack of evidence,“the slide event” is hard to verify. Examined from the circumstances of the times and Lu Xun’s personality, the paper comes to the conclusion that his choice of “giving up medicine for literature” palpably results from his compromise with the reality.
