in the 60s and 90s of the 19th century,a movement took place in ancient China to learn advanced Western science and technology to save themselves.This injected a breath of vitality into the Qing Empire,which was already in its old age,and gave the old Buddha Empress Dowager Cixi a little hope.She decided to temporarily support the actions of the Westernization School,so these landlord class Westerners began this vigorous Westernization Movement under the banner of"self-improvement and self-improvement."
