Reading is the key content of English teaching. Good English reading level is also a direct expression of students' comprehensive quality. However, in the current English reading teaching process, the traces of exam-oriented education are still serious, which affects the improvement of students' English level. It is a relatively new form of teaching, which has changed the shortcomings and problems of traditional teaching methods to a certain extent. This paper elaborates and analyzes the ingenious application strategies of English picture books in English reading teaching.
