南靖县由于独特的自然人文环境,为四平戏和四平锣鼓乐的发展提供了一定的社会基础。明清至民国初,四平戏在福建尤为繁荣。而源自四平戏的四平锣鼓乐也孕育而生,风华一时。尤其在以山区为主的南靖地区,四平锣鼓乐在当地的民俗活动当中扮演着举足轻重的角色。随着时代发展,这种音乐形式也逐渐走向了没落。四平锣鼓乐作为闽南民间音乐的遗存,在现今的传承保护道路上也遇到了困境。如何保护与传承是留给后人不得不面对和思考的问题。

On account of unique natural and humanistic environment, Nanjing provides a social foundations for siping play and siping gongs and drums music.During the Ming-Qing dynasties and the beginning of the Republic of China,Siping play is very prosperous,especially in Fujian province.while,the siping gongs and drums music which originate from siping play came into being and elegance at that time.The siping gongs and drums music play an important role in local folk-custom activity in Nanjing area that is mountainous.With the development of society,this kind of the music form is dying out.Nowadays,the siping gongs and drums music,as the remains of Minnan folk music,is difficulty in the road of inheritance protection. How to protect and inherit it is a question that remains to later generations have to face and think about.
