近代武汉建筑事务所——景明洋行历任主要负责人之身世及作品探究

The Research of Main Architects’ Life Experience and Works of Hemmings & Berkley in Modern Wuhan

景明洋行是近代武汉重要的建筑事务所之一,其设计作品造型典雅,紧随国际建筑思潮。对于景明洋行设计作品的研究已相当全面,然而对于运营洋行的建筑师的相关研究却鲜有涉及。该文在已有国内外相关研究资料的基础上,结合新发掘的史料,明确景明洋行的成立时间,并对洋行五位历任主要负责人即海明斯、伯克利、帕克因、雷纳兹以及胡珀的身世背景及职业生涯进行梳理,对其作品进行分析,从而探究景明洋行对于近代武汉建筑发展之影响。

Hemmings & Berkley is an important architecture firm in modern Wuhan. Its works are elegant and represent the trend of international architecture. There already have a comprehensive study on this firm's works, however, the research on the architects of this firm is few. Taking R. E. Hemmings, E. J. Berkley, F. S. Reynolds, W. G. Parkin and C. O. Hooper, who are the main architects of Hemmings & Berkley, as research objects. It aims to clarify the establishment date of this firm and identify the life tracks of the main architects based on the relevant research materials, furthermore, through reinterpret the typical works of the firm to seek the relationship between the modern architect and the transformation of architecture's style and features in the city.
