A Research on “Pig Culture” From the Perspective of Folk Art

民间艺术是人民大众在生产力极不发达的社会背景下,深信万物有灵而产生自然崇拜的艺术形式,有着悠远的历史和丰富的文化内涵。作为农耕文明的典型代表和重要食物来源,猪在人类社会的发展中有着举足轻重的地位,形成了有着丰富内涵的“猪文化”。伴随着生存方式和生活方式的改变,对猪的图腾崇拜也经历了从神力到财富、再到吉祥的演变过程。

Folk art is an art form with which the masses of people express their reverence for nature and their belief in the spirit of all things when the productive forces were underdeveloped. It has a long history and a rich cultural connotation. As a typical representative of agricultural civilization and an important food source, pig plays a decisive role in the development of human society, forming a “Pig Culture” with rich connotation. Along with the improving survival and lifestyle, the symbolism of pig totem has evolved from the divine power to the wealth and then to the auspiciousness.
