As the first design school in the United States with the qualification of awarding doctoral degree and the largest full-time college with the qualification of graduate teachi ng of desig n major in the United States, the graduate educatio n system of IIT institute of design has its own characteristics and enjoys a high reputation in the global design education circle. The educational concept of cross-disciplinary design of IIT institute of design emphasizes broadening the design dimension and innovating the academic vision through the multi-level of tale nt training types, the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum and the multi-disciplinary background of the faculty. The cultivation idea of critical thinking is to train students' creative, technical and social thinking and constantly challenge the boundaries of design by holding high-end academic conferences, highlighting the teaching focus of design research and developing the interactive mode of small-class studio system.
