Unfinished Breakthrough: Medical Sociology in International and Domestic Research

基于对国内外有关医学社会学研究的梳理,总结了不同社会环境下医学社会学学科的发展及研究议题。相较于国外医学社会学的成熟发展,国内医学社会学虽然发展迅速,但在研究的理论视角和学科的社会影响力等方面存在一定不足。相关研究需要结合具体时空情境和多元研究方法,揭示社会阶层结构与健康不平等的关系及其影响机制,理解医疗活动的社会意义,厘清医疗与社会之间的复杂关联,进而发展出植根于本土的医学社会学理论。对于目前国内复杂多变的医疗形势和健康问题,医学社会学的研究潜力有待挖掘。

Based on the review of current medical sociology literature, this article presents the development of medical sociology discipline and its focus of research in different social contexts. Compared to the maturity of medical sociology as a sub-discipline in western societies, medical sociology in China, albeit develops rapidly, has certain shortages in terms of its theory and impact. Further studies need to adopt various research methods and situate in local context, to reveal the impact mechanism between social class and health inequality, understand the social meanings of medical practice, and reveal the complex relationships between medicine and society, and then develop medical sociology theory rooted in China. With a complex and changing medical environment and health issues, China's medical sociology has many opportunities to further its research.
