The American Association of Research Libraries organizes library assessment conference every two years. The theme of the conference reflects the focus and hotspot in the field of university library evaluation. By comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences between the themes of ARL 2016 and 2018, we can find that the evaluation work of university libraries shows the trend of paying more and more attention to fine management, user experience and social impact. This has a strong reference and enlightenment significance for domestic university libraries to innovate assessment content and effectively implement library assessment.
