In H1 2019,the overall tanker orders accounts for only 8.9%of the total orderbook,the lowest level since April 1997.In the first five months of the year,155 tankers or a total of 20.07 million dwt were delivered.Therefore,the global fleet increased 3.1%.Since the beginning of this year,tanker shipping market experienced seasonal decline.The market is expected to recover by the end of 2019 and the forecast of 2020 seems brighter.In the VLCC section,the spot earnings ratio declined 23%compared to the average level of 2018.For Suezmax,the situation alleviated in May,with spot earnings ratio still 10%higher than the same period of last year.For Aframax,the spot earnings ratio increased 45%to US$16,911 per day.
