A Study on the Establishment of Fenghuang Ting in Shengjing in the Qing Dynasty

凤凰城位于盛京地区的最东边,与朝鲜隔江相望,战略位置十分重要。同治和光绪年间,边疆危机日益加深,清廷设置了凤凰直隶厅,下辖岫岩、安东和宽甸州县,形成较为完善的行政管辖体制。这在加强凤凰城地区管理的同时,对于解决中朝边疆问题和危机亦具有重要意义。

Located in the east-tip of Shengjing area,facing Korea across the river,Fenghuang occupies an important strategic position in the Qing Dynasty.During the periods of Tongzhi and Guangxu,the frontier crisis is increasingly serious and the imperial government establishes Fenghuang Ting,with Xiuyan,Andong,and Kuandian Prefectures under its jurisdiction.As a result,a relatively complete administrative jurisdiction system has been formed,which not only helps strengthen the administration of the Fenghuang area,but is significant to the solution of the frontier problems and crises between the Qing government and Korea.
