Objective To investigate the level of peripheral blood cell count and its correlation with clinical symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 138 patients with schizophrenia(case group) and 141 healthy controls(control group) were enrolled. All subjects underwent routine blood tests and the positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS) were used to evaluate the clinical symptoms of the case group. Results WBC, NEU, LYM and MON in the case group were higher than those in the control group, while NLR and PLR were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences( P <0.05). Depression factors in case group were positively correlated with PLR and SIII(P<0.05). Conclusion Patients with schizophrenia have dysimmunity, which is related to their depressive symptoms.
