This paper mainly analyzes the causes of highway subgrade tumbling. It discusses the reasons of moisture, soil quality, vehicle load and improper construction. It briefly studies the causes of highway subgrade tumbling and proposes reasonable optimization and improvement based on design angle. Pavement structure layer, diversion management, lifting drainage, reducing groundwater level, replacing subgrade fill layer, improving subgrade management and maintenance level, and attaching importance to construction management and other related countermeasures are put forward and fundamentally solve the problems of highway subgrade quality.
