一、引言今天的美国教育中,在家教育(homeschooling)越来越常态化。2016年,美国在家上学的学生人数为230万,约占5~17岁学龄人口的4%,[1]与70年代1万多人相比,保守估计每年以7%到12%的速度递增。[2]很多学者都认为在家上学已经走向主流,发展成为美国国民教育的一种替代形式。"每个人都认识一个在家教育的家庭",[3]米尔顿·盖瑟(Milton Gaither)所言未免有些夸张。

Homeschooling is an alternative form of education that is deeply rooted in United States'liberal tradition and emerged with the expansion of modernity.Over the past decades,homeschooling has undergone rapid development because of the dominance of neoliberal economy,the increase of immigrants and the crisis of public education.
