Based on the research and analysis of her manuscripts, videos and related books, this paper attempts to interpret the artistic pursuit and aesthetic significance of her works through the research and analysis of the pottery works of Lucy Lee, an outstanding Vienna ceramics artist in the 20 th century. This paper first summarizes the background of Lucy Lee’s works and the influence of her artistic style at that time, then expounds her creative techniques, and then analyzes the aesthetic significance of Lucy Lee’s works from multiple perspectives.Through the concrete analysis of Lucy Lee’s works, this paper tells how she refines the traditional utensils from the perspective of modern design, presents them in abstract form and creates a unique artistic style. She transformed ordinary daily utensils into works of art. Reconstruction and re-creation of traditional utensils is one of the most important techniques for contemporary ceramic artists. Lucy Lee is one of the important representatives of this style. She integrates the modern design concept into the traditional ceramic handicraft, which has great influence and significance on the development of modern ceramic art.
