Professional interest often manifests itself in one’s adaptability to one’s own work and the idea and desire to engage in the work. Higher college counselors, as an important force in ideological and political education of college students, are the leaders to lead college students to better life. When selecting counselors, higher colleges should see whether they have a high enthusiasm for work, whether they can do a good job of college counselors of this work. The correct choice of college counselors can often have a certain impact on students’ personal development. This paper mainly studies the professional interest and competency characteristics of college counselors, and provides relevant suggestions for them.
