关于陕西方言“爷”字的讨论

Discussion on the Term——Grandfather in Shaanxi Dialects

大致看来,陕北晋语把祖父叫作“爷爷”,陕西全省比较普遍地把外祖父叫作“外爷”。关中方言“爷”字的呼称特征主要有:一是把祖父叫作“爷”,把曾祖父、高祖父叫作“X爷、XX爷”;二是舅祖父、姑祖父、姨祖父在关中中西部也以“爷”来呼称;三是“爷”字的父亲义用在“父亲与子女们”的语境里;四是太阳、月亮等有以“爷”来呼称的。陕南佛坪、安康方言把父亲叫作“爷”,石泉等处把父亲叫作“爷爷”;略阳等处把祖父叫作“爷爷”,留坝等处把祖父叫作“爷”。

Generally speaking,in the Jin dialect of Northern Shaanxi grandfather is called as Zufu or Yeye;while the maternal grandfather is called as Waiye,in the whole province.In Guanzhong dialect,the term paternal-Grandfathers can be as follows:it is called as Zufu,Zeng-Zufu and Gao-Zufu,etc;The term Yeye can be addressed to any old man ranked with the same seniority of a grandfather.However,the term Ye has some specialties:it meant the moon;it referred to the father;and it meant grandfather as well.
