A Hot Review of Regional Economics Research at Home and Abroad in the New Era

2017年以来,国外区域经济学主要关注非都市区发展、人口迁移和产业再布局问题,同时,古典区位论有复兴之势,集聚经济理论面临尺度挑战。我国区域经济学一直以区域协调发展作为政策目标,并发展到中国特色社会主义区域经济学理论体系构建的阶段。区域协调发展的理论基础和评价方法已经成熟,但主要矛盾转变之后,区域经济呈现出新格局、新形态,区域政策补充了新内容,区域发展展现出新方向。因此,新时代区域协调发展存在五个重大问题--区域发展不平衡、城乡发展不平衡、产业发展不充分和产业转移受阻、区域政策体系不完善、资源型地区和特殊类型地区发展存在瓶颈。未来我国空间转型依旧要借鉴国外区域科学的成果,即如何从人口迁移中获得区域发展的新动力。

Since 2017, foreign regional economics has focused on the development of non-urban areas, population migration and industrial re-layout. At the same time, classical location theory has a renaissance, and agglomeration economic theory faces scale challenges. China’s regional economics has always taken regional coordinated development as a policy goal and developed into the stage of constructing a regional economics theoretical system with Chinese characteristics. The theoretical basis and evaluation methods of regional coordinated development have matured, but after the main contradictions have changed, the regional economy has presented a new pattern and a new form. The regional policy has added new content, and regional development has shown a new direction. Therefore, there are five major problems in the coordinated development of the new era--imbalanced regional development, imbalanced urban and rural development, inadequate industrial development and blocked industrial transfer, imperfect regional policy systems, and bottlenecks in the development of resource-based regions and special types of regions. In the future, China’s spatial transformation should still learn from the achievements of foreign regional science, that is,how to obtain new impetus for regional development from population migration.
