The Outset of Long-Distance Motor Transport in Modern China:Taking the Rise and Fall of Zhangku Road Trade as an Example

张库大道是连接中蒙俄三地的重要国际运输通道。近代以来,随着张库大道贸易的兴盛和汽车运输业的引入,在这条道路上出现了第一条连接中蒙地区的汽车公路、最早拥有营运执照的商办长途汽车运输公司及首个官办汽车运输机构,其在中国近代长途汽车运输的发轫过程中所体现的开创性和规范性,极大地推动了中国近代长途汽车运输业的发展。

Zhangku Road is an important international transport channel connecting China, Russia and Mongolia. In modern times,with the prosperity of Zhangku Trade Road and the introduction of motor transport industry, the first motor road connecting China and Mongolia, the first commercial car transport company with long-distance motor transport operating license in China and the first official car transport organization in China had appeared on this road. The pioneering and normative nature of Zhangku long-distance transportation has greatly promoted Chinese modern long-distance motor transport history.
