摘要
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Belt and Road Initiative are both at a new historic juncture. With shared conditions for coordinated development, they are in a position to give full play to their advantages, further optimize their functions and goals, and pursue mutual improvement and joint development in the new period.
Since its successful membership enlargement, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has become the regional body with the largest population, the largest territory, and great potential for economic cooperation. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), since its announcement, has been closely related to the SCO. Member states, observer states and dialogue partners of the SCO are by and large countries along the Belt and Road routes, and also supporters and participants of this initiative.
