A Preliminary Study on Distribution Types of Speech Sounds in Acoustic Space

本文提出“语音声学空间分布类型”概念,比较蒙古语、维吾尔语和鄂温克语三种语言词首音节短元音系统的声学空间分布模式图之间的相似度,探讨该项研究在语言类型学和语言亲属关系研究中的作用和意义。

This paper puts forward the idea of ''Distribution Types of Speech Sounds in Acoustic Space". It then calculates and compares the similarities among the distribution patterns in acoustic space of the systems of short vowels of the first syllables in Mongolian, Uyghur and Ewenki languages. On that basis, it discusses the role and significance of this study in linguistic typology and linguistic genetic relationship, in the hope that the idea and methods in this paper will pilot a new direction and growth point in the study of linguistic typology, especially phonetic typology.
