摘要
《献给艾米丽的玫瑰》是美国著名作家威廉·福克纳的代表作之一,一经发表便在美国引起了强烈的反响。本文首先对认知语言学与文学作品中的隐喻之间的关系进行了阐述,继而从认知语言学的角度分析了《献给艾米丽的玫瑰》中的隐喻手法使用。小说通过多个实体隐喻和空间隐喻展现了作品更深层次的含义和作者深刻的思想。
“A Rose for Emily”is one of the representative works of the famous American writer William Faulkner.It has been published in the United States and has a strong response.This paper first expounds the relationship between cognitive linguistics and metaphors in literary works,and then analyzes the spatial metaphors and physical metaphors in“A Rose for Emily”from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.Through metaphorical cognition,the connotations of seemingly intricate time and space are clearly displayed.
