Uncertain Communication: Controversy of Science in New Media Coverage

本文以2016年10月-2017年2月黑龙江禁种转基因粮食作物事件为例深入分析转基因的知识争议问题。选取《黑龙江日报》、《科技日报》、澎湃新闻三家代表性媒体相关议题的报道,分析探讨不同媒体是如何报道这次转基因争议事件的,其间,作为知识权威的专家是如何参与到转基因知识争议事件中去的。同时考察公众对此次转基因事件的态度,分析他们是如何参与讨论的。

Scientific knowledge is by nature uncertain, which often arouses controversy in the process of implementing science and technology policies. This article takes the event of banning genetically modified food crops in Heilongjiang Province from October 2016 to February 2017 as an example to analyze the knowledge controversy of genetically modified crops. It selects three representatives of media outlets, i.e. Heilongjiang Daily, Science and Technology Daily and thePaper.cn, to discuss how different media reported the genetically modified food controversy incident and how experts were involved in the controversy. It also examines the public attitude towards the incident and public participation in the discussion.
