Using Scenes Crafted of Ceramics to Influence People’s Mind: The Feasibility of Combining the Narratives of Blue and White Ceramics with the Classic Stories of Zen in Contemporary Context

禅宗思想的传播很大程度上依赖于公案故事的叙述,而公案故事除去语言等显性知识外,很多隐性知识(动作、表情)的存在也是非常关键的。这些动作、表情的意义,有时候文字是不能完整地表达出来的,所以历史上就出现许多的禅宗画来辅助禅的传播。青花的材质特性使其具有很强的叙事能力。如何将现代青花的叙事表现力和禅宗公案结合起来并推动禅文化的传播是本文思考的内容。

The spread of Zen school depends largely on the narrative of the classic stories of Zen, in addition to explicit knowledge, such as language, the existence of varies of implicit knowledge (action and expression) is also very important. The meaning of these actions and expressions is sometimes not fully expressed in words, so many Zen paintings have appeared in history to assist the spread of Zen. The material character of blue and white ceramic art provides a strong narrative ability. How to combine the narratives of modern blue and white ceramic art with the classic stories of Zen to promote the propagation of Zen culture is the concern of this paper.
