At present, China's automobile industry is facing great challenge of energy conservation and emission reduction. Lightweight design is imperative. As a part of lightweight materials for automotive interiors, the application of foamed polypropylene in automobiles is increasing year by year. By introducing the properties and processing technology of foamed polypropylene material, the paper points out the points to be paid attention to when designing the parts, such as part thickness, fillet radius, drawing angle, surface texture, air holes, label sticking, etc., as well as its cooperation with surrounding parts when used as storage device. It is hoped that through the discussion of the article, some references can be provided for the automobile interior design engineers.
