The historical evolution of the development of ideological and political education in the seventy years of new China has mainly experienced the four stages as follows: the stage of initial argumentation, the stage of stagnation and tackling key problems, the stage of recovery and restructuring and the stage of in-depth development, and the above four different historical stages have exhibited four different development states. However, no matter how the times have developed, ideological and political education has always been keeping pace with the development theme of the times and the needs of social development, which, through making constant innovation in educational contents and methods, keeps leading and promoting the all-round development of people, and consolidating the ideological foundation of the CPC and the whole nation so as to promote the all-round development of society. The study of the development course of the ideological and political education in the past 70 years aims to require us to value lessons in history, have a clear understanding of the value of ideological and political education, attach great importance to subject orientation, theory orientation, task orientation and problem orientation, build a theoretical and practical system of ideological and political education, and constantly promote the scientific development of ideological and political education under the historical background of the new era of socialism.
