The application status of zinc ferrite in recent years was reviewed, including treatment of industrial waste water, desulphurization materials, high-performance wave absorbing materials, anti-corrosion coatings, and flame retardants. The mechanochemical synthesis process, sol-gel process, hydrothermal synthesis process, roasting process, coprecipitation process, and metal organic salt thermal decomposition process of zinc ferrite were introduced. The principle and conditions of various processes were summarized. Advantages and disadvantages and development status. And pointed out the direction of future development.
