The Breeding of New Long and Slim Hot Pepper Variety of Jiaofei

椒妃是以RX17-670为母本,RX17-712为父本配制而成的中熟深绿色长线椒一代杂交品种。植株生长势中等,株高67~73cm,株幅68cm×65cm;第一花节位11~13节,果实长线形,果顶尖,果纵径25~28cm,果横径1.6~2.0cm;果肉厚0.15cm,单果质量22~26g,青果为深绿色,成熟果为深红色,味中辣,耐贮运,前后期果实一致性好,适宜青鲜椒上市,每667m^2产鲜椒2500kg左右。抗疫病和病毒病的能力强于对照品种湘辣17号。适合在海南、广东、广西作秋冬季露地栽培,也适合在湖南、山东、贵州、四川、河南春夏季露地或大棚种植。

Jiaofei is a F1 hybrid variety of long & slim hot pepper with mid-maturity,which was bred using RX17-670 as female parent and RX17-712 as male parent. The variety has medium vigor with plant height of 67 ~ 73 cm and canopy of 68 cm ×65 cm. The first flower sets at 11 ~ 13 node. The fruit is in long & slim shape with the length of 25 ~ 28 cm length,diameter of 1.6 ~ 2.0 cm,and flesh thickness of 0.15 cm. The average fruit weight is about 22 ~ 26 g. The color of unmatured fruit is in dark green,which turns into dark red in matured fruits. The fruits have medium pungency and good shipping ability,which are suitable for picking up the green fruits for fresh market. The yield of green fruits per 667 m^2 is around 2 500 kg. Compared with Xiangla 17, Jiaofei showed better resistance to phytophthora blight and virus. This variety is suitable for open field cultivation in autumn-winter in Hainan,Guangdong,and Guangxi provinces,as well as for open field and greenhouse cultivation in spring-summer in Hunan,Shandong,Guizhou,Sichuan,and Henan provinces.
