China’s Absolute Sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands and Its Historical Rights

当前,由于某域外大国为自身利益积极谋求深度介入南海争端,试图将该问题推向国际化,至使南海问题呈现出许多不确定因素。面对目前的局势,中国学界一方面应系统梳理有关中国对于南海诸岛主权的关键性历史依据,包括中国与东南亚各国关系史料、关键性历史地图、英、美等国海军档案以及南海《更路簿》等;另一方面,还应仔细研究历史上中国与东南亚各国的政商关系及其外交政策,以及二战后美、日等国对东南亚各国及南海诸岛采取的立场和态度,进一步厘清战略思路,分层次地对待南海问题。

At present, because some foreign country was actively seeking deep intervention in the South China Sea dispute for their own interests, there appeared some uncertain factors in the South China Sea issue, which was internationalized. Faced with the current situation, China academic circles should, for one thing, sort out the key historical basis of China's sovereignty over the South China Sea, including historical data on relations between China and Southeast Asian countries, key historical maps, naval archives of the UK, US and other countries and the Manual of Geng Lu Bu, and for another should study political and commercial relations between China and Southeast Asian countries and their foreign policies in the history, and the positions and attitudes of the US and Japan toward Southeast Asian countries and the South China Sea islands after WWII so as to further clarify strategic thinking and treat the South China Sea issue at different level.
