The development and planning of characteristic small towns in China is becoming a hot issue concerned by the country, governments at all levels and the people. Based on this, this paper discusses the necessity of the development of characteristic small towns in China, the basic conditions and conclusions of the construction of characteristic small towns: planning content, hoping to help and trigger thinking.
