Hand pull length is a simple method often used in cotton fiber inspection.The author analyzes some factors affecting the accuracy of the hand pull length of cotton fiber by long-term cotton fiber inspection laboratory practice and several methods for improving the accuracy are proposed such as sampling should be randomly selected from the upper,middle and lower levels and avoid the cutting edge,regular technical comparison or proficiency testing,correctly master the six operational principles of"section,extraction,straightening,cleaning,stacking,and value",different samples states should be treated differently,familiar with the characteristics of various types of cotton,etc.And put forward some matters needing attention,aiming to improve the accuracy of hand pull length of cotton fiber inspection.
