基于语料库的高中英语教材词块结构类型和语篇功能分析

A Corpus-based Analysis of Structural Types and Pragmatic Function of Lexical Chunks in Senior High School English Textbooks

词块对第二语言的习得具有重要作用,而高中英语教材呈现的词块可以成为教师帮助学生培养词块意识的重要参考材料。本研究通过语料库对比分析了人教版和外研版高中英语教材中词块的分布、结构类型和功能特点。研究结果表明:两种版本词块的分布主要以三词词块为主且使用频率最高,与四词和五词词块分布差异较大;其词块的结构类型较为多样,以介词、名词和动词词块为主,连词和副词词块占比较少;词块的语篇功能中指示词块使用率最高,其次是立场和组篇词块,且其使用数量与出现频次呈正相关;基于上述发现,本文针对英语教师如何开展词块教学提供了几点建议:教师应尽量提高三词词块的复现率,善于挖掘文章中不同结构类型词块,重点强调文章中的指示词块。

Lexical chunks are of great significance for second language learning,and lexical chunks presented in the textbooks can be vital reference materials for teachers to help students cultivate lexical chunks awareness.Under the help of Corpus,this study makes a comparative analysis of the distribution frequency,structural types and functional characteristics of lexical chunks in senior high school English textbooks published by PEP and FLTRP.It is found that three-word lexical chunks have the highest use in the reading materials,while four-word lexical chunks and five-word lexical chunks differs greatly in the two editions in terms of distribution frequency;the structure types of lexical chunks are more diverse,with prepositions,nouns and verbs as the main lexical chunks,while the proportion of conjunctions and adverbial chunks are relatively small in the two reading materials;as for pragmatic function,lexical chunks have occupied a high proportion,followed by positional lexical chunks and discourse lexical chunks in the two English reading materials.Accordingly,several relevant suggestions are offered for teachers on how to teach lexical chunks:teachers should try to improve the repetition rate of three-word lexical chunks,explore the different types of lexical chunks in articles,and emphasize the demonstrative lexical chunks.
