唐人科举尚经。唐人科判显示,科判对古礼极为重视,以礼为题及涉礼题众多;对判中制作者多据礼作答,即使与律法相反,也能入等;古今冲突时可直接依古做裁。科判语言自开元后多用经史雅言,尤其是仿《诗经》语句特征明显。科判具有鲜明的时代文化特色。

The imperial examinations of the Tang Dynasty respected rites and classics. Scientific judgments attached great importance to ancient courtesy, with rites as the subjects or around rites. Candidates answered according to etiquette, even if it was contrary to the law, could also be selected. Times conflicts could be decided directly according to the ancient. Since the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, the judgment language had used classical and historical elegant words, especially the imitation of the Book of Songs , which had obvious characteristics of the times and culture.
