The study of soundscape in protected areas is of great significance and the study of soundscape emotional perception is an important aspect of soundscape research.Studies have shown the relationship between different sound sources and emotional perception and the relationship between dominant sounds and emotional principal components. At present, there is no research to correlate the dominant sounds and emotional perceptions in soundscape of protected areas in China. This study takes the soundscape of Wulingyuan Heritage Site as the object, and collects 80 valid questionnaires through listening experiments of 4 clips of soundscape.Through the correlation analysis, factor analysis etc.,the basic data like the general characteristics of Wulingyuan soundscape and the acceptability of dominant sounds are obtained. Then, the study further analyzes the relationship between the acceptability of dominant sounds and emotional perception, and the consistency of dominant sounds and main emotional perceptions. The conclusions include: the acceptability of dominant sounds is basically consistent with the emotional perception of the whole sound clip. The sounds of birds and running water are significantly positively correlated with the emotions which are relaxed, natural, soft, comfortable, etc. The shout of hawkers and the sounds of driving cars are more likely to cause artificial, diverse and noise emotional perception.Based on the results, the research proposed management strategies for Wulingyuan Heritage Site.
