At the Qingshui river in Shidong town, Taijiang county, Guizhou province, the Sisters Festival is a unique festival dedicated to women of the Fangnan branch of the Miao nationality. Gender culture formed in the long-term accumulation of daily life not only is the cultural basis for the inheritance and reproduction of the festival itself , but also constitutes the cultural reconciliation mechanism for the individual, family and collective life of the Miao people, which shows the important role of the sense of place in the social integration generated the festival. In the face of the re-development and cultural construction of the festival, only by responding to the sense of place of the cultural subjects and their real life style can we obtain real endogenous motivation for the protection of the Sisters Festival.
