Focusing on the changing narrative voices of Ali Smith’s Hotel World, this article attempts to examine the repressed living condition and inner world of the marginal women in the novel. In light of Susan Lanser’sconceptual system of "feminist narrative voice",it analyzes the correlation between gender politics and three kinds of narrative voices, namely "personal voice","authorial voice" and "communal voice".It argues that through establishing female authority, subverting heterosexual hegemony and deconstructing male authority, these voices shape narrative voices and feminism into an organic whole. It is by means of her manipulation of female voices in the novel that Smith makes a breakthrough in her writing but also expresses her expectation for the marginal women to face life bravely.
