George Bernard Shaw’s debut Widowers’Houses underwent an uneventful writing process during which Shaw and William Archer ended the collaboration because of great disputes over the plot and techniques.Such disputes could serve as a good example to illustrate Shaw’s early dramatic views that the English drama should discard the vulgar conventions,shift the focus to social problems in the reality and restore the didactic function.
