Novice geography teachers are teachers who have assumed geography teaching work within three years and have not yet fully adapted and been qualified for geography teaching. The professional development of novice geography teachers has an important impact on their future career. In order to explore the professional development paths of geography novice teachers in the eyes of senior geography teachers in middle school, the semistructured interview method was used to interview 10 senior geography teachers in the middle school. The grounded theory and NVivo software were used to qualitatively analyze the interview data. The results show that new geography teachers can enhance professionalism and achieve professional development by enhancing development awareness, attaching importance to teacher learning, learning to prepare lessons adequately, practicing classroom teaching skills, focusing on teaching reflection and conducting teaching research.
