A large number of clinical practice has proved that Chinese medicine retention enema has a significant effect on ulcerative colitis.Current clinical research on the treatment of ulcerative colitis with Chinese medicine retention enema is mainly focused on the components,and compatibility of Chinese medicine,action of mechanism of the therapy,and combined medication.However,to achieve good clinical results,besides good rationality of prescription compatibility,appropriate means by which the drugs can yield increased in vivo efficacy are also needed.On the basis of reviewing related studies,the article discusses the types of Chinese medicine retention enema and related precautions.
