《荀子》联绵词探析

Research on Bi-Syllabic Morphemes in Xunzi

《荀子》作为战国末期著作,其中的联绵词反映了上古汉语时期词汇的特点。本文首先对联绵词的定义和范围做出界定,其次对《荀子》一书出现的联绵词从形、音、义角度做简要分析,同时进行共时比较,考察其在同时期其他文献中的使用情况,最后概括其主要特点,包括书写形式不一、构词音节有时会具有音韵关系、词类分布不均匀等。

Xunzi was written at the end of the War periods, and the bi-syllabic morphemes used the work manifest the lexical characteristics of earlier ancient Chinese. This paper firstly elaborates the bi-syllabic morpheme in its definition and connotation. Then the paper analyzes the bi-syllabic morphemes in the book in aspects of their morphology, phonetics, and semantics, and makes a synchronous comparison with their uses in other contemporary classics. Finally the paper summarizes their characteristics as,(1) there are different spellings;(2) their composite syllables are sometimes rhymed;and (3) they do not necessarily belong to the same grammatical category.
